Season Six of Nashville premiered on CMT on January 4, 2018 and will conclude on July 26, 2018. Unlike previous seasons, this season contais sixteen episodes, aired in two parts like Season Five, and is the final season.  

On December 19, 2017, the season premiere was made available on streaming service Hulu, with no comment having been made by the showrunners or cast. However, it was later removed.

The first half of the season starts almost a year following Rayna James' death.  Maddie is still pursuing her solo career and embarks on a new relationship with teen sensation Jonah Ford while Deacon and Jessie also grow closer.  Zach leaves Nashville to return home to California as Juliette becomes involved with a self help movement, causing tension between her and Avery.  Scarlett moves on from her breakup from Gunnar by helping out at horse ranch for the disabled war veterans, Will and Avery form a new group, later adding a singer named Alannah, and Will begins abusing steroids.

	Plot: Deacon and Jessie’s relationship deepens. Darius invites Juliette to get more involved with the Movement while Avery voices his opinion. Gunnar, Will, and Avery search for a female voice for the band. Jonah’s ex releases a song about Maddie.

	'Plot: After his collapse while performing at the late night show, Will recovers in the hospital and frets about his future. Brad gets a restraining order against Deacon, fueling conflict between Deacon and Jessie. The media get wind of Juliette’s extended stay in South America and begin harassing Avery about it. Maddie gets caught up in the fast lane lifestyle of Jonah Ford.

	Plot: Juliette discovers that Darius Enright’s Movement is not the happy utopia that it seemed to be. She demands to leave, but they won’t let her. The tension in the group too much to bear, Alannah leaves the band and signs with Shiny New Records; but the emotional connection between her and Avery doesn’t go away. Jonah’s best friend Twig develops feelings for Maddie, but she shuts him down even as their friendship deepens.
